- On the login screen, tap Forgot password and enter your username, email or phone number.
- Open the code or link that Instagram or Facebook sends to your email or phone.
- If a hacker changed your email or phone, open instagram.com/hacked or facebook.com/hacked and follow the steps.
- When you are back in, set a new password and turn on two-factor authentication.
If it does not work
Search your inbox for the security email about a changed email address: it often contains a link to undo the change.
People who promise to recover accounts for money are almost always scammers. Recovery through the official pages is free.
